Tell us about your job responsibilities (day-to-day and/or projects).

I work with transactions involving syndicated loans. My day-to-day varies, but I spend majority of my time preparing memos for each transaction, which often includes analysis of financial performance, capital structure, cash flow models, the proposed terms of each facility, and any other information that may be relevant.

Why did you choose to work for your company?

When I was a junior, a few Goldman Sachs employees came to speak in one of my classes and announced they would be hosting coffee chats later that week. I had already accepted a summer internship, however, I still decided to apply and was selected to participate. I had such a positive experience that it ultimately led me to apply for a full time role the day that applications opened.

What do you enjoy most about your job or company?

I enjoy the people I work with most. Especially as a new graduate in my first full time job, I’ve been incredibly thankful to be surrounded by colleagues, mentors, and managers that have devoted so much time and energy into my personal and professional development.

Please share what led you to your current job/company (past experiences, networking, classes, multiple rounds of interviews, or anything you deem relevant).

I was first introduced to Goldman Sachs through the coffee chats the company was hosting on campus. I was so excited from my experience during those coffee chats that I attended the on campus networking event they were hosting later in the week to meet more people from the company. After my junior year internship, I followed up with those same employees through LinkedIn and had multiple calls with them before applying for a full time position. The hiring process consisted of a short Hirevue interview and 3 in-person interviews with 6 vice presidents within the division. I believe networking and building relationships with existing employees prior to formally applying to the role definitely helped, as I was able to use them as a resource throughout the interview process.

What advice do you have for Eller students seeking a similar career path?

I would recommend reaching out to Eller graduates that have taken a career path that interests you. Speaking from experience, I love connecting with current Eller students and am always excited to help. I expect other graduates likely feel the same! This will help you gain a deeper understanding of what type of role you may want to pursue.

Please share an Eller memory:

Some of my favorite memories are spending late nights studying with friends or working on group projects in Eller, and often times the lights would turn off after a period of inactivity. These are the moments I learned the most, and most importantly, made lasting connections with my classmates that I still talk to years after graduation.
