Eller College of Management Receives AACSB International Approval

The University of Arizona Eller College of Management is pleased to announce both its accounting and business programs has received AACSB International (AACSB) accreditation for another five years. The college is among a short list of others that received this extension, as announced today by the AACSB.

“We are grateful to have a wonderful faculty, staff and students who tirelessly work to conduct amazing programs and impactful research,” says Karthik Kannan, dean of the Eller College of Management. “As we celebrate the success, I want to extend a thank you to those who managed the process at the Eller College and the many others who worked resolutely behind the scenes.”

For more than 100 years, AACSB accreditation been considered the gold standard of business education. Currently only 981 institutions in 60 countries and territories have earned AACSB accreditation in business and 194 institutions hold supplemental AACSB accreditation for their accounting programs.

According to the AACSB, achieving accreditation is a rigorous process that encompasses internal focus, engagement with an AACSB-assigned mentor and peer evaluation. During this multi-year path, schools home in on developing and implementing a plan that aligns with AACSB’s accreditation standards. These standards require excellence in areas relating to strategic management and innovation; student, faculty and staff as active participants; learning and teaching and academic and professional engagement.

The University of Arizona Eller College of Management is among just 36 business schools that have extended their global accreditation in business and 11 that have extended their global accreditation in accounting this year.
