Eller College First to Launch Deloitte’s Future of Work Institute

Powered by a partnership between the Eller College of Management and Deloitte, the new Future of Work Institute will help prepare students to navigate future careers and be leaders in our rapidly changing world. 

Designed for both undergraduate and MBA students, the Future of Work Institute includes a set of core lab experiences to develop a common foundation for what the Future of Work means, supplementary activities to apply knowledge and gain professional exposure and a final ceremony to reflect upon the experience. Students who complete all core labs and activities will be awarded a Deloitte credential to show their mastery of the program. 

The institute’s inaugural class was comprised of 21 Eller students, including Parth Agarwal ’22 BSBA (MIS) and Kay Badenhuizen ’22 BSBA (Economics and Entrepreneurship). 

“The Deloitte Future of Work was a unique workshop where unconventional ideas regarding the future strategies for work and the role of technology at the workplace were discussed in depth,” says Agarwal. “It was a fascinating experience to speculate the future definition of ‘work’ and picture the numerous ways it could be supported by advances that have already started entering the workplace.” 

“We addressed how factors such as technology, social issues and the recent pandemic shifted what the future of work will look like, and the ways in which companies are aiming to address these changes,” says Badenhuizen. “I would recommend to any student who wants to learn more about what their future work stance may look like, and how to take full advantage of the new opportunities firms are beginning to offer.”
