MBA/MSBA Dual Degree

Admissions

Dual degree students must apply and be admitted to both the full-time MBA program and the MSBA program. This requires the completion of two different applications, including submission of supporting documents. Current MSBA students applying to the MBA program must apply in their first semester of studies.

The final application deadline for MSBA is June 15th. 


Degree Requirements

To receive the Dual MBA/MSBA degree, 73 total units are required:

18 units of required MSBA coursework

  • Summer: Online bootcamp (1 unit), BNAD 555 (2 units)
  • Fall: MIS 561 (3 units), MIS 509 (3 units), MSBA elective* (3 units)
  • Spring – MIS 587 (3 units), MSBA elective (3 units)

40 units of required MBA coursework

  • Fall: ACCT 540 (2 units), BNAD 596C (2 units), ECON 550 (2 units), ECON 551 (2 units), FIN 510A (2 units), MGMT 556 (2 units), MKTG 510 (2 units)
  • Spring – ACCT 545 (2 units), FIN 510B (2 units), MIS 560 (2 units), MIS 585 (2 units)
  • 6 MBA electives course (3 units each) over Fall or Spring semesters.

15 units of dual degree overlap

  • Fall: MKTG 552** (2 units), MKTG 555A (2 units), BCOM 510A*** (3 units)
  • Spring: MIS 545 (3 units), BNAD 597A (3 units), MKTG 555B (2 units)

* Dual MBA/MSBA students will complete their last MSBA elective in their final semester. Any other electives will be considered MBA electives. MBA and MSBA concentrations can also be earned through this combination of courses.
** MKTG 552 and MGMT 562 are interchangeable, depending on which program a student enrolls in first. 
*** BCOM 510A is required for the MBA degree and students will be required to take it even if they take MIS 509 as part of the MSBA.
