The Zipperman Scholars application is now closed. It will reopen in late fall 2024.


ZipS are required to attend and participate in a minimum of 7 approved events (2 of which are social events) each semester to keep their active status in the program as well as submit a reflection paper about each event and their overall experience in the ZipS program. ZipS are expected to arrive on time and stay throughout the duration of all attended events. ZipS events are scheduled on different days of the week from 5:30-7:00 pm (Events that go longer, tend to be scheduled on Fridays).

The No-Show Policy:

Out of respect of guest speakers and staff who organize events, it’s important we follow through with our commitments. We understand emergency and personal matters occur; we ask that you contact us within a proper time so we can adjust. A no-show is a student who RSVPs for an event but doesn't show up. ZipS who earn two no-shows will automatically be removed from the program. To prevent being penalized for no-shows, always cancel an event registration at least 72 hours in advance. Missing events labeled mandatory without prior notice (72 hours unless extreme emergency) will result in automatic removal from the program.
