First Year ORIENTATION Information
Welcome to the Eller College!
New Student Orientation is a virtual University of Arizona program to help newly admitted first year students explore their academic College, learn about campus resources and departments, and register for classes prior to the first semester. The online orientation includes mandatory items to complete in Next Steps Center. Within Next Steps Center, students also sign up for their virtual Orientation Day program. Prior to that date it is important to complete Academic Placements and the Arizona Arrival portal, which is designed to prepare new students for the big day. On Orientation Day, students have a chance to connect to advising and receive their schedule of classes with recommendations to add/drop/swap prior to the start of the first semester.
After Orientation day is complete, we encourage new Eller First Year students to connect with their assigned Eller Academic Advisor for additional assistance in transitioning to the University, exploring resources and opportunities, and development long term academic planning to make the most of the Eller Experience to come.

Academic Advising
Professional Academic Advisors act as a resource for students to better understand University policy and procedures and connect to support. Advising is necessary to plan future courses and track progress toward degree completion.
Academic Semester Plans
Sample plans for Foundational Management and Economics students help Eller student get off to good start, staying on track. Plans should be customized with an Academic Advisors, adapting them based on unique student goals and circumstances, i.e. incoming placements, transfer units and other UA programs.
Progressing to Upper-division
All students who enter as Foundational Business Management (BSBA) students must go through a competitive and selective Professional Admission process to gain entry to the upper-division professional business majors and coursework. BA Economic degree students must take lower-division economic courses before upper-division economics courses and are required to complete a Minor to finalize the degree.
