Seven Questions with Nathan Schupp
Nathan Schupp is a senior from Austin, Texas, with three majors and great plans for his post-graduation life.
Why did you choose the UA?
The national scholar award was something that I saw as too generous to pass up.
What made you choose your majors?
I have always been interested in data analytics, which all three of these have to a great degree.
What type of relevant professional experience have you had so far?
During the summer following my sophomore year, I held an internship with a start-up 3D graphics company in Austin where I served as a business generalist. Following this, I spent my junior year as an on-campus recruiter for General Mills. My junior summer consisted of an IT consulting and audit internship with Protiviti in Phoenix. During my senior year, I have been working in the Professional Development Center as the student coordinator for alumni relations. Additionally, I served as a business communications honors project manager for three semesters.
How have you been involved on campus?
Majority of my involvement has been in Eller Ambassadors, where I am now in my second year as president. Most recently, I have helped found the Polaris Alumni Relations Board and sit on the board for the Eller Student Excellence Fund. Previously, I served as the vice president of finance for the Financial Management Association and I have been a member of both the Investments Club and E.L.I.T.E.
What have your involvement and professional experience taught you?
I have learned how important it is to know your limits, but to also be willing to constantly push yourself to break through them.
What is your plan for the rest of college?
Survive. Maybe try to relax a little. The usual senior stuff.
What do you plan to do after graduation?
After graduation I will be working for Deloitte in San Francisco as a technology advisory consultant.
