Eller Finance Professor Cited In USA Today

Research conducted by Kathy Kahle, Thomas C. Moses Professor of Finance and finance department head in the Eller College of Management, was cited in a February 21 USA Today article about California companies adding record numbers of women to their boards since the state set gender quotas.

Since 2018, the number of board seats that are held by women have more than doubled going from 782 to 1,959 in 2021.

Before the California law went into effect, women held 14.6 percent of the seats on company boards—they now hold 32 percent.

Kahle joined the Eller College of Management as associate professor in 2003 and was appointed the Thomas C. Moses Professor in Finance in 2014. Her research interests are around corporate finance, capital structure, securities issues, repurchases and insider trading. Her previous teaching experience includes the University of Pittsburgh. She earned her PhD in Finance from The Ohio State University in 1996.
