Oskar Hepworth '27 (Accounting) was a Digital Assurance & Transparency Intern at PwC in Irvine, CA.

PwC did not provide additional financial support for living expenses, but did provide a list of other interns to help with finding a roommate. 

What was the process for getting this internship, job, or summer experience?

I cold applied to 30+ jobs before I ended up getting this offer. I would apply to jobs whenever I had free time and just tried to get as many applications submitted as I could. Eventually I got an interview with PwC and one other firm and ended up choosing PwC. 

Tell us about your internship.

The highlight of my internship was the intern project my department did. It was called the national AI intern challenge, we got split up into teams by region across the US, and then each were tasked with coming up with a new AI tool to implement into daily work. I ended up building a website designed to track all AI usage used in each engagement and act as a form of tool repository that encourages collaboration and further innovation on any tool currently being used. My team ended up winning the competition after presenting our website to all the national partners.

Another bonus best experience was the national promotion day celebration, where we got to go to a rented out venue and see Steve Aoki perform front row.

How did Eller prepare you for this internship and any advice for other students?

Prioritize finding things that you enjoy doing outside of work, or else your daily life can feel pretty boring if it’s your first time working a full time job. It’s really important to have a hobby or group of friends to put your time towards outside of the office.
