FAQs

No, the diploma will not indicate that the degree was completed online. 

The program is asynchronous, allowing students to complete coursework on their own schedule. 

Yes, the GMAT or GRE is required, but waivers are available for students with a Finance, Accounting, or STEM degree with a 3.3 GPA or higher, or CFA Level 1. 

No, work experience is not required for admission. 

Yes, prerequisites may include coursework in accounting, finance, and statistics. Prerequisite requirements are determined by the Finance Department Admissions Committee based on an individual applicant’s background, work experience, transcript, and chosen track within the MSF program.   

For those without the prerequisites, we offer a 12-week asynchronous online FinPrep course in the summer before the fall semester. It covers accounting, finance, and statistics from May to late July or early August through Eller Executive Education. The cost is $2,500, and financial aid is typically not available. Admission to the MSF program is required to enroll in FinPrep, and passing it is necessary to continue in the master's program. More details can be found under the "prerequisite requirements" section. 

The program can typically be completed in 12-24 months, depending on the student's pace.
