Tell us about your job responsibilities:

I manage the audit of financial statements for various clients, most of my clients are in the retail or tribal gaming industry. On a typical day, I check in with the team that is working on the audit and answer any questions they may have and review their work.

Why did you choose to work for your company?

The two biggest reasons were the people I met and the amount of PTO the company offered. You really do spend so much time with your coworkers, so while going through the interview process and meeting more people at the firm I would ask myself, 'could I sit next to them for 40 hours a week?' And traveling is one of my biggest passions, so when I learned about Moss Adams having five weeks of PTO it was a big plus for me.

What do you enjoy most about your job or company?

I started this job with three other women who have now become some of my closest friends. Having a group to support you during the stressful times and to celebrate with during the positive times has made the job so much more enjoyable.

Please share what led you to your current job?

I applied for a summer internship and went through multiple rounds of interviews. After getting the offer and completing the internship, I started part time the following year.

What advice do you have for Eller students seeking a similar career path?

Many public accounting firms offer great opportunities for students starting their careers that it can be difficult to choose which one would be the best fit for you. When you start looking into different accounting firms, ask the employees what they do outside of work. It’s a great way to get a better understanding of the company’s work life balance and culture to see what the best match is for you and your priorities.

Please share an Eller memory:

While it wasn’t the most fun in the moment, now I enjoy looking back on the late-night study sessions in the library with a large Dunkin Donuts iced coffee.
