On Thursday, January 18, friends of the Eller College of Management and Tucson communities gathered at McClelland Hall to celebrate the naming and ribbon cutting of the newly established HSLopez School of Business Analytics.
The establishment of the HSLopez School of Business Analytics was made possible by a generous $10 million donation made by Humberto (Bert) S. Lopez ’69 BSBA (Accounting) and his wife Czarina.
Many familiar University of Arizona faces attended the ceremony, including JP Roczniak, president and CEO of the University of Arizona Foundation.
Attendees had the opportunity to mingle and catch up before the dedication ceremony began.
During the ceremony, guests heard from Roczniak, as well as Karthik Kannan, dean and Halle Chair in Leadership in the Eller College and Yong Liu, director of the HSLopez School of Business Analytics, on the impact that the Lopezes’ donation is making on not only the new School of Business Analytics, but the Eller College as well.
Attendees then heard from both Bert and Czarina. They mentioned how important giving back to not only the University is to them, but also giving back to the entire community of Tucson.
Following the speeches, there was a champagne toast and ribbon cutting to officially open the HSLopez School of Business Analytics.
