Amy Schmitz is the assistant dean of marketing and communications for the Eller College of Management at the University of Arizona. In this role, she manages a team of eight to lead the renaissance of the college's approach to marketing and communications through adding capacity for digital and content marketing and media relations; launching a repositioning process to enhance brand strategy and messaging platform to impact enrollment, philanthropy and rankings; and increasing our presence in key markets outside Tucson. She sits on the University of Arizona Brand Advisory Committee and the Eller College's Diversity and Inclusion Committee.
Prior to joining Eller, she honed her marketing and communication skills and knowledge at the University of San Diego School of Business, the Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University, ProLiteracy and CARE. From 1998-2000, she served as a United States Peace Corps Volunteer in Cape Verde, West Africa. She started her career as an art teacher in the Washington, DC public school system.
